Full Time – Experience Required – Los Angeles, CA/Remote (This role is based out of our LA office, but as we are currently working remotely, this job will begin as a fully remote position. For the right candidate, we’re open to making this a fully remote position.)

About the role:

We are looking for a top tier Staff Accountant to join our finance team and support/lead all accounting functions of Pick My Solar. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly-organized, and self-motivated team player with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments. This role will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for managing the current accounting processes of the company and building new processes to support the growth of the organization. We expect this role to grow in responsibility, continue to take on new and challenging tasks, and expand into various functions to support financial analysis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
● Perform various operational accounting activities including: classifying Quickbooks transactions, maintaining accurate Quickbooks records, performing month-end account reconciliations, preparing journal entries and tracking and issuing vendors payments
● Perform bi-weekly commissions analysis and run report process to generate commission payments for payroll
● Manage the invoice and collections process: create invoices, track progress of installations to determine invoice due dates, send invoice due date notifications to installation partners, work with installation partner accounting departments to coordinate and collect payments
● Support the loan application process for solar customers: send application documents to customers, collect completed documents, submit documents to financiers for loan approval, and speak with customers over the phone throughout the loan process to answer questions and resolve issues.
● Manage all in-house financing accounting activities: track all bank account activity, submit documents to financing partners for fund disbursement, and pay installers as funds are received
● Support key tax filings processes for: franchise tax, state and city tax, 1099-MISC, etc.
● Support ad-hoc activities including: budgeting, financial analysis, generating monthly reports to partners, build new processes, streamline current processes

Preferred Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Business
● 2-5 years of work experience in an accounting, finance, or similar role
● Proficient with Quickbooks Online, Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), and Google tools (Google Sheets, Google Docs)
● Familiarity with operations related accounting for Payroll, Commissions, US GAAP, and business processes
● Desire to learn and take on new tasks and responsibilities
● Strong organizational skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail
● Strong analytical and modeling skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data
● Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with limited guidance while maintaining accuracy and delivering against deadlines
● Ability to partner, collaborate and influence across functional areas (e.g., Sales, Finance, Marketing, Business Development)
● Adaptive mindset to impact other areas of the business and shift priorities as the business needs grow and change

About the role:

Sales Development Representatives (SDR) are often the first point of contact for a customer in the Pick My Solar experience. Presenting a friendly and informative face for the company is an integral part of the solar experience. There are no cold calls with this role. Every lead has registered and engaged with our platform before being introduced to the SDR. As a team, we’re always looking to improve and educate ourselves to constantly be providing the best solutions for our customers. We’re looking for a highly motivated person with excellent communication skills who can deliver world-class experiences for our customers. 

What you’ll do:

  • Reach out to new registrations and engage them in the solar process. 
  • Manage and optimize our new registration process.
  • Answer customer questions and requests through email, phone, and text channels in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follow up with old and new customers relentlessly to introduce as many people as possible to Pick My Solar. 
  • Maintain an up-to-date and properly managed CRM and inbox. 
  • Become a complete solar expert, staying up-to-date on all relevant market trends.
  • Assist in improving processes and user experience.

What you’ll bring:

  • Prior experience in sales, customer service, or another customer-facing role is a plus.
  • Prior experience in the solar industry is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a start-up atmosphere is a plus.
  • Strong organization skills and extraordinary attention to detail required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Every customer the Energy Advisor works with is an inbound, qualified lead. As a team, we’re always looking to improve and educate ourselves to constantly be providing the best solutions for our customers. We’re looking for a highly motivated person with excellent communication skills who can deliver world-class experiences for our customers. 

What you’ll do:

  • Guide the customer through their solar buying experience from registration to the point of sale. 
  • Run analysis of solar bids and advise customers according to their needs. 
  • Answer customer questions and requests through email, phone, and text channels in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and properly managed CRM and inbox. 
  • Become a complete solar expert, staying up-to-date on all relevant market trends.
  • Assist in improving processes and user experience.

Corporate – Los Angeles, CA

What We Need

The Commercial Projects Developer reports to the Head of Business Development to expand Pick My Solar’s commercial service offering across the country. The position works alongside the business development team and sales team to develop new commercial project prospects, assist in commercial project strategy and implementation, identify project scope and requirements, and define the overall client experience. The Commercial Projects Developer is an expert in identifying new opportunities like solar rebates and incentives, industry trends, and utility pricing.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Expand Pick My Solar’s network of commercial clients
  • Guide commercial clients through entire sales process
  • Follow workflow process with extreme detail

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in C&I solar sales
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, or related
  • Minimum 2 years experience with MS Office, CRM systems, project management tools
  • In-depth knowledge of solar PV technology and economics
  • Ability to commit ~40+ hours per week
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in C&I solar
  • MBA or Master’s in Finance, Project Management, or related

We need a Marketing Intern to assist our Marketing Department develop various marketing channels and strategies. This will include the meticulous production of web pages, blogs, emails, social media posts, brochures, and more for campaigns across the United States. As a marketing intern, you’ll work alongside our Head of Marketing to help achieve our mission of empowering consumers to adopt sustainable technology through transparency and choice. This is a unique opportunity to get direct, hands-on experience in a disruptive cleantech enterprise. You will be well prepared to become an expert on solar energy, industry trends, and marketing strategy. You will meet cleantech innovators, investors, and more.
