In this week’s livestream, Patrick and Rex will be sharing information on the new SunPower Equinox Storage System for residential solar. SunPower, a California based solar energy manufacturer, is known for its highly efficient solar modules on the market. It’s a brand that is recognizable amongst homeowners and solar enthusiasts for its powerful products. In March 2016, SunPower’s innovative efforts led the company to launch Equinox, a fully-integrated residential solar system that includes in-house designed, engineered, and manufactured equipment such as the following:

  • AC module solar panels
  • Micro-inverters
  • Monitoring software
  • Racking system

Fully Integrated SunPower Equinox Solar SolutionWhat makes this product different compared to existing residential solar systems on the market?

Well, the major components list above are all contained under one SunPower umbrella. What this means is that all components are warranted under SunPower. This creates accessibility, convenience, and efficiency for both SunPower customers as well as the company itself. Customers will have one single point of contact should any diagnosing is necessary to cover any parts of the system. Customers will find convenience and comfort knowing there is just one number they need to dial to troubleshoot any issues whether it’s with the inverter, the panel, or monitoring app.

Just this month, SunPower introduced Equinox Storage, the latest innovation within the SunPower Equinox family. The purpose of the new Equinox Storage is meant to compliment homeowners’ SunPower Equinox home solar system. The Equinox Storage is essentially battery storage for homeowners who wish to have energy independence and control of their energy as a supplement to their SunPower solar array system. Pictured above, we have the energy storage system which stores the excess energy produced by your solar system. The Hub+ is an additional piece of equipment that controls when and how your energy is used.

The Equinox Storage allows homeowners to store their own excess energy produced by their panels and that can be used at a later time. This alleviates the annoyance and unpredictable peak hours that can produce high utility rates for homeowners. With battery storage, homeowners will find it beneficial during unpredictable power outages or in the winter months or even evenings when their solar system isn’t producing (as much) energy.

Why You Should Consider the SunPower Storage System

If you are considering adding solar to your home, the most obvious reasons are to produce your own electricity and save hundreds of dollars while doing so. Another very good reason to consider SunPower Equinox is their all-in-one integrated solar + storage system. SunPower is known for its high-efficiency panels and its 25-year product warranty. If you are a homeowner with limited roofing space and need the most power in a confined space, then SunPower may be a great option for you. With these highly efficient panels, you can rely on a strong and reliable product like SunPower to produce the power you need.

The Equinox Storage home solar system and storage battery will be available nationwide in 2020. If you’re interested in installing the best of the best and would like to seek comfort in having a single-point-of-contact for the longevity of your panels, visit our online marketplace and one of our Energy Advisors will guide you through our process to make sure you get the best deal on the market!
